Check It!

Monday, January 12th 2015
So I finally bought myself a nice watch! A few fancy ladies at work have this little gem and so I decided to do what my mother calls "the most sincerest form of flattery" and go grab myself one too.

You can get all different colour combinations of straps which is hella rad!

Busy Bees

I don't really post very often on here, to be honest I have been so busy lately I just don't have have the time to sit down and type anything! The reason I have been busy is that I am working on opening an Etsy store - finally!

This is a really big step for me as it will the first time I will selling my artwork to the public. After a lot of research I decided to print my art at home and went and bought myself a super new printer. It is a bit of a set back but I think I'm going to enjoy having control over the way my prints look and feel.

Currently, I am preparing a whole bunch of prints, these will all have been traditionally drawn and coloured using watercolours. I'm just tweaking them at the moment in Photoshop to make sure they look as lush as the originals. If you follow me on Instagram (@missy_meow) I'm sure you will have seen these pieces before!

These are just a few that I am working on. I can't wait to share them all with you when they are done!

Have a magical Sunday evening!

Stomping Ground

During the cooler days it can get tricky trying to find those perfect shoes that you can wear with any outfit but still keep your toesies warm.

But I found them and so, of course, I bought then in black and white!

The are called "Rainbow" by Windsor Smith. Originally purchased in white, I was lucky enough to grab them last week in black while on sale!

I'd definitely urge you to hurry to a store and grab them while you can!

On Wednesday I paired then with my "Madeline" plaid American Apparel skirt. These skirts are another staple of mine - I have 7! I adore them so much! If I discover a wonderful piece, you can bet I'll buy it in all the colours I like.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all!

My mum is a big part of my life and she has gone through a lot and still manages to be the greatest person ever (I'm a bit biased I know). I love her dearly and I am so proud to be her daughter!

Among a lot of things she is a lover of antiques, and loves watching those shows like Antique Roadshow and Bargain Hunt on UKTV.
So I took her out to the Woolloongabba Antique Centre today to have a little look around!

It was a pretty neat place though not as big as I thought it would be! We did both get a few things before leaving. And naturally I wanted practically anything with bunnies on it!

These were my two finds - old 70's shift dress and a cute little figurine of two bunnies! Both of these were $10!

I hope everyone else had a lovely day spending it with their mothers if they were able to!

As If!

Hey cool cats!

Here is a little post about my outfit today! I love the 90s, being born in 1991, and Clueless was my all time favourite girly movie (even if I didn't understand half of it!).

I always like to dress up or even try and get inspired by my favourite characters for my outfits! I've changed my hair so many times trying to be my favourite character of the week! I mean, I've been Clarice Starling, Dana Scully, Jareth the Goblin King (yes he's a dude but come on, that mullet!), Carrie Bradshaw, Hermione Granger and Alice in Wonderland ... Just to name a few.

I love being inspired by the things I love and it makes getting up on a cold Monday that tiny bit better!

Floating and Twirling

This beautiful dress by Lions and Unicorns I've had for a while! It is from their Clueless inspired Winter collection from last year. I adore it but just hadn't been able to style it the way I wanted to.

As it's sheer I need something underneath it, and this is where I struggled to style it. I tried just a plain bodycon black cotton slip I had but found it was too stark under the dress and just took away from the floaty effect.
So I decided to try my Sheer Baby Doll Dress from Black Milk Clothing and found it was perfect! Two sheer things together were enough to become a solid block of colour. And this meant it didn't detract from the softness of the dress.

It can be a tricky thing to make some sheer things work but once you've found the right way to style it - you are set!

Winter Harvest

While the seasons battle in Queensland it is quite hard to know what on Earth to wear. One minute it's sunny and you're dying to go for a swim, and then in a matter of seconds a storm will be raging and you won't have any power. At the moment I've mostly just been adding socks to my wardrobe. I love socks, especially ones with fun prints and it's something you can just take off and stash in your handbag if it gets too hot.

Yesterday I went into Gorman and picked up this lovely top and the matching socks. I know I'll be able to wear them into the colder months and it's always good to have clothes you can wear all season - especially since Winter is a very short time here. Though, I can't wait for it to be cold enough to get the fire going - as you can see we have a lot of wood to burn!
